I’ve been testing out MarsEdit 2, a really cool editing tool for blogging. It works with WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, Movable Type, LiveJournal, Drupal, and Vox, plus others. What I like so far: it allows you to edit, post, tag, publish, and lots more, all offline, so there’s no lag time while you’re editing while you wait for the network to post your material. You can do everything offline and then post later, when you have a connection.
It’s simple, intuitive and elegant. You can upload pictures (it also integrates with Flickr), use markup language and take advantage of macros. I like the way it’s almost like writing an email. Once you’re happy with the post, you click a button and it automatically updates your blog. Editing of existing posts is a snap, and I like the fact that you can spellcheck and cut and paste with ease. It’s only $29.95 (a free 30-day trial will let you know if you want to purchase the license). It’s available at: MarsEdit. Check it out, let me know what you think.
